Jesus Did NOT Die for My Sins?

An Innocent Question

Here is something I have been wondering about:  when you see a billboard (like on Freeway 99) or poster (like the one at the Fresno Air Terminal) advertising for Fresno Pacific University, nowhere on the ad do you see the words “Christian”, “God”, “Christ”, “Jesus”. Apparently, there is no way you would know it is a Christian University. Why?  I am grateful for the fact that the words “Founded On Christ” appear on the FPU logo, but if the logo is on the billboard, at 70 MPH you don’t see it.

The Contemporary Evangelistic Message

Too often, the evangelistic appeal we commonly hear today is quite different from the one which Jesus taught his disciples and apostles.  I think of the song, “People Need the Lord.”  Yes, people do, but why?  Is it because, as the song’s lyric says, “at the end of broken dreams, people need the Lord”?  I do not think I have ever read in the Bible of the sin of “broken dreams”.  There is also the common Christian belief that money ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

“The Wrath of God” or “God Hates You” – Driscoll’s Controversial Sermon

A Great Reminder from Tim Geddert

Most of us enjoy listening to music, whether contemporary or traditional, in our cars, homes and during worship at church. Often, we don’t stop to consider just what the song we are listening to is actually saying. In his article “What God Can Do” Tim Geddert takes a thoughtful look at a popular song often played on Christian radio. He stopped to listen to the words and wrote a very well thought out response to what he heard.
