Marc Driscoll, pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, has started a bit of a controversy by asserting that modern-day preachers and theologians are recreating God in an image that selectively chooses those attributes of Him that are the easiest for congregants to accept and ignores those attributes that call for a tough decision with eternal consequence.  While God is a loving god He is also just.  Mark Driscoll does not mince words.  Here are two clips from Driscoll’s sermon of October 9, 2011.  The entire sermon can be viewed at the Mars Hill Church website (1 hour, 5 minutes).  In this first clip Driscoll explains God’s Wrath.  The second clip is no longer available from Mars Hill out of context but is still on their site as part of the full sermon.  Our suggestion is to view these two clips in the order they are presented here, to better understand the full context.  What do you think of Mark Driscoll’s comments?  Are they in line with scripture?  Your comments are invited.
